Position Summary

The Truck Equipment Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling and installing truck bodies, hydraulic systems, and electrical components on new snow and ice truck packages. This role requires mechanical aptitude, fabrication and welding skills, and the ability to interpret technical instructions to ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient installations.

The ideal candidate is quality-driven, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment with both standard and custom applications.

· Assemble and install truck bodies, hydraulic systems, and electrical components on new truck packages.

· Perform fabrication and welding to support custom installations and non-standard applications.

· Operate hand tools, power tools, welders, torches, plasma cutters, overhead cranes, and forklifts as required.

· Read and interpret work instructions, technical drawings, and verbal direction to complete installations accurately.

· Conduct detailed quality inspections of previous and completed work using inspection documentation.

· Document completed installations using company systems and technology.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with safety standards.

· Communicate proactively with supervisors and parts coordinators to ensure materials are available for current and upcoming jobs.

· Meet productivity expectations and complete jobs within established budgeted hours.

Work Environment

This position operates in a shop environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, vibration, and loud noise levels. Work may occur in varying weather conditions.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Your manager will provide you with the specific details of your schedule. The schedule is subject to change due to customer requirements or business needs. Overtime may be necessary to handle emergencies, heavy workloads or other issues. 


Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of the area and overnight travel may be expected. All travel must be approved in advance by management. Please reference the employee handbook for all applicable policies. 


Required Education and Experience

· High school diploma or GED.

· Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools.

· Ability to read and follow written and verbal work instructions.

· Ability to safely lift to 75 pounds.

· Commitment to quality workmanship and safe work practices.


Preferred Education and Experience

· Experience in truck equipment installation, up-fitting, automotive, heavy equipment, or similar mechanical environment.

· Experience in custom installation or fabrication environments.

· Vocational or technical training in automotive, industrial mechanics, welding, hydraulics, or electrical systems.

· Basic welding and fabrication experience.

· Experience working with hydraulic and 12V electrical systems.

Salary Description
$22.00-$26.75/hr
