At Integral Consulting Inc., our Environmental Scientist/Engineer Internship offers hands on experience tackling meaningful environmental challenges alongside experienced scientists and engineers. This is more than an internship—it’s an opportunity to build practical skills, gain exposure to environmental consulting, and contribute to projects that protect human health and natural resources.

As an intern, you’ll be part of a collaborative, values driven team working on real client projects from day one. You’ll develop technical, analytical, and professional skills while exploring different areas of environmental science and engineering in a supportive learning environment designed to help you grow with confidence.

Integral is seeking spring and summer interns (May through August 2026) for the following business/practice areas: Investigation and Remediation, Permitting and Planning and Marine, Coastal, Climate, and Technology.

Qualifications 

We welcome applications from students and recent graduates who are currently pursuing, or have recently completed, an undergraduate or graduate degree in geology, hydrogeology, civil or environmental engineering, biology, toxicology, public health, economics, or a related scientific or engineering field. 

This role is ideal for students who have: 

  • Academic coursework or hands on exposure in an environmentally focused discipline, such as geology, hydrology, environmental science or engineering, geochemistry, toxicology, or human/ecological risk assessment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft® Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) gained through coursework, projects, or internships
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and an interest in building professional confidence
  • A curiosity-driven mindset and enthusiasm for learning and professional growth
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • The ability to work independently while also collaborating with a supportive, multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers

This internship is designed to support learning, skill development, and exposure to real world environmental work—no extensive prior professional experience required. 

Hourly compensation ranges from $24 to $30 per hour, available for both part-time and full-time during the spring/summer. Interns are eligible for company-subsidized (employee and family) medical, dental, and vision insurance.

If a holiday falls during your internship, you will be paid for the holiday. Additionally, sick leave will be provided in accordance with state law, if applicable.

This position may offer in-remote, in-office, or hybrid opportunities based on the candidate’s location and the needs of the organization.
