Founded in 1992, After-School All-Stars is a national non-profit organization which provides free, daily afterschool programs to more than 150,000 children in need at 728 school and community sites in 18 chapters across the U.S. Our goals for our All-Stars are the same we have for our own children: to be healthy and active, to graduate high school and go on to college, to find a job that they love and to give back to their communities. A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY: 

After-School All-Stars is currently seeking to hire a National Data Coordinator. The position responsible for coordinating all program performance data and supporting evaluation and continuous quality improvement activities. This role is a key member of the Programs & Evaluation Department. The position ensures that data is accurate and timely, that all reporting deadlines are met, and supports staff across the country with training and technical assistance.    

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

National Database Administration

  • Serve as the system administrator for ASAS’s national data and evaluation systems, including Cityspan, Jotform, and Tableau.
  • Support system configuration, manage user accounts, and oversee permissions across all data systems.
  • Provide direct support to chapters using Cityspan for attendance tracking, data entry, and program reporting.
  • Perform regular system maintenance and data health procedures while troubleshooting issues and coordinating with vendors as needed.
  • Deliver training and technical assistance to staff, including the creation and modification of training guides and SOPs.

New System Implementation Support

  • Support the administration and implementation of ASAS’s new evaluation platform during its multi-year rollout.
  • Assist with system setup, data migration, and staff onboarding during various implementation phases.
  • Ensure data continuity and consistent reporting throughout the transition from existing systems to the new platform.

Data Operations & Quality

  • Coordinate all activities related to the national database to ensure accurate progress monitoring and reporting.
  • Process student-level data updates and respond to staff data requests or questions as they arise.
  • Monitor data quality through monthly attendance and demographic audits, working with chapter leadership to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Facilitate data imports, exports, and integrations between ASAS systems and external platforms.
  • Monitor compliance regarding data standards and the maintenance of records.
  • Coordinate the annual stakeholder survey process, including survey design, technical assistance, and verifying report accuracy.

Reporting & Dashboards

  • Coordinate the creation and maintenance of progress monitoring dashboards and data visualization fields.
  • Support the annual data collection process for the organization’s annual report.
  • Manage the national dashboard for internal leadership reporting to the board of directors.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of data to internal departments and multiple funding organizations.

  • At least 3 years of experience in youth development, OST, or education sector. 
  • Prior CitySpan database administration and reporting experience is required.  
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.? 
  • Experience creating reports on program outcomes and performance metrics.? 
  • Experience conducting surveys, needs assessments, and program evaluations.? 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing position demands. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially a command of Microsoft Excel, is required. 
  • Highly detail oriented; taking pride in tasks performed at a high level of accuracy. 
  • Experience with local, state and federal grant projects preferred. 
  • A bachelor’s degree is required.  


SALARY AND BENEFITS: 

This is a full-time, exempt position with a starting salary of $80,000-$85,000 per year, commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the individual candidate. This role is based in Los Angeles and requires an in-office presence Monday-Thursday with the option to work remotely on Fridays, for a minimum of 40 hours a week with additional hours as needed throughout the year.
