Inside Sales Representative

Description

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for meeting and exceeding overall sales objectives while ensuring a high level of customer service when promoting TPC products and strategic initiatives. This role is mostly Inside Sales, but in more of a hybrid capacity, requiring some onsite customer visits in the Quebec area.


Responsibilities 

  • Drive new account generation for the organization through a daily cadence of prospecting and qualification activities.
  • Develop undersold locations by identifying new applications and opportunities in a remote selling environment (digital, phone, etc.)
  • Execute daily outbound sales calls & manage inbound calls
  • Perform product demonstrations effectively over the phone and video 
  • Create territory / account plans and achieve sales objectives
  • Align with internal resources to execute account plans
  • Understand end market trends and industry best practices; utilize relevant value propositions to those end markets
  • Proficiently sell both standard in-line and custom solutions
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Work Environment 

This position involves visits to active industrial facilities, including manufacturing plants, mills, processing plants, and warehouses. The work environment may include: 

  • Exposure to heat, humidity, dust, noise, vibration, and flashing or rotating lights 
  • Proximity to operating machinery, moving equipment, and industrial vehicles 
  • Varying lighting conditions and uneven walking surfaces 

Physical Demands 

The physical demands described below represent those that are essential to the role and may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Ability to move throughout large industrial facilities to meet with customers 
  • Ability to stand, walk, and navigate stairs or platforms during site visits 
  • Ability to communicate effectively in environments with elevated noise levels 
  • Ability to visually observe equipment, surroundings, and safety signage 
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and mobile technology 
Requirements
  • 2+ years sales experience, preferably in an industrial setting
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales objectives
  • Strong communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to listen and overcome objections
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, industrial distribution, engineering/technology or related years’ experience
  • Previous industrial sales experience a plus
