ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

National Children’s Alliance (NCA) is the national association and accrediting body for Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs). Formed in 1988, NCA has been providing support, technical assistance, and quality assurance for CACs, while serving as a voice for abused children for nearly 40 years.


JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Member Services provides leadership and oversight of all membership functions and activities for all levels of NCA membership and acts as the point of contact at NCA for our member State Chapters. This position works cooperatively with all NCA Departments, state chapters and Victims of Child Abuse Act Partners to coordinate and respond the needs of NCA members.

 

In addition to operational leadership, the Director of Member Services leads membership growth, retention, and engagement strategies, using data and trend analysis to inform planning, improve member experience, and support organizational goals. This position analyzes membership metrics and emerging trends to guide strategy, strengthen partnerships, and enhance the value of NCA membership.


The Director is part of the Senior Management Team and is supervised by the Vice President of Programs. This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to facilitate and navigate complex systems.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Project management and facilitation skills for high level systems improvement projects.
  • Provide training, development, management, supervision, and evaluation of all direct reports.
  • Oversee the functions of the Membership Department to deliver a high-quality member experience. 
  • Ensure compliance with all grant deliverables.
  • Establish, monitor, and evaluate the effectiveness of membership growth, engagement, and retention strategies to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Provide strategic and operational oversight of membership-related initiatives aligned with the organization’s Strategic Plan goals and priorities. Current focus areas include, but are not limited to, expanding access and support for military families, promoting CAC sustainability, and enhancing support for Rural Children’s Advocacy Centers.
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of major departmental events, including the Urban Forum, National Chapter Summit, New Chapter Leadership Orientation, and Leadership Conference, ensuring alignment with member needs and organizational objectives.
  • Provide oversight of NCA Engage, the organization’s learning management system, to ensure high-quality, accessible education and training.
  • Build and sustain collaborative relationships on behalf of the organization with NCA’s Members, Chapters, RCACs, funders, and other national stakeholders.

Requirements

The Director of Member Services shall have but not be limited to the following qualifications:   

  • Baccalaureate degree required; post-Baccalaureate degree in related work is preferred.
  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills with cross-functional work teams.
  • Proven ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment involving complex initiatives and multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Demonstrated prior supervisory experience, including managing, coaching, and evaluating multiple staff members.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use, adapt to, and support the adoption of new and emerging technologies.
  • Prior knowledge of or work in a Children's Advocacy Center, including to provide technical assistance and training to children’s advocacy centers and chapters.
  • Applicants need prior experience working in or leading a CAC, Chapter, or Regional Children’s Advocacy Center.
  • Knowledge of and experience with national associations preferred.
  • Leadership, learning, and growth mindset.
  • Demonstrated excellence in both written and oral communications.
  • An ability and willingness to travel.
  • Knowledge of sound financial management and quality assurance practices.

Salary Description
$120,000 - $150,000 per year
