Description

  

This is a highly responsible position requiring a unique skill set pertaining to the breadth of grant management functions. The Grants Development Manager is responsible for identifying, securing, and managing grant funding to support the Tribal Government programs and initiatives. This role involves researching potential funding sources, writing grant proposals, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements. The Grants Development Manager will work closely with various departments to align grant opportunities with Tribe goals. This is an onsite position only up to 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Grant Research and Identification:

  • Conduct research to identify      potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and      other funding sources.
  • Monitor trends and changes in      grant funding and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain a database of      potential grant opportunities and deadlines.

Proposal Development:

  • Write, edit, and submit compelling      grant proposals that align with the Tribe’s mission and objectives.
  • Collaborate with SMEs (subject      matter experts) and/or department program [PD1] staff to      gather information, data, and project details needed for proposals.
  • Prepare and submit grant      applications and proposals in accordance with funder guidelines and      deadlines.

Grant Management:

  • Oversee the administration of      awarded grants, including tracking expenditures and ensuring compliance      with grant terms and conditions.
  • Monitor timely drawdowns, in      collaboration with the finance department.
  • Prepare and submit progress      reports, financial reports, and other required documentation to funders.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve the      Tribe’s goals.
  • Collaborate      with team members to deliver high-quality results.
  • Coordinate with finance and      department program teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Contribute to a supportive and      inclusive team culture.

Relationship Building:

  • Cultivate and maintain      relationships with current and potential funders.
  • Act as a liaison between the Tribe      and funding agencies, addressing inquiries and providing updates on grant      activities.
  • Organize and participate in      meetings, events, and presentations to foster relationships and promote      the Tribe’s work.

Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement a      grant-seeking strategy aligned with the Tribe’s goals and priorities.
  • Provide guidance and support to      staff in identifying and pursuing grant opportunities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the      effectiveness of the grant-seeking strategy and adjust as needed.

Database Management:

· Develop, implement, and maintain a centralized database system to record all grant-related data (applications, awards, reports, and payments). 

· Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data entered into the database.

· Generate reports from the database for management, funders, and stakeholders. Analyze grant data to identify trends, opportunities for funding, and areas for improvement.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with all      federal, state, and organizational regulations related to grant funding.
  • Maintain      accurate records of grant applications, awards, and expenditures.
  • Conduct periodic      reviews of grant-related policies and procedures to ensure adherence.      This includes the tribal grant      policy protocols.
