Position Overview

Account Executives are responsible for driving new business and growing existing accounts within a assigned territory. This outside sales position will develop relationships, demonstrate equipment, create proposals, and close sales to meet revenue goals.


Key Responsibilities:

· Prospect, qualify, and convert new commercial accounts- golf courses, municipalities, sports complexes, etc.

· Manage and grow relationships with existing customers; conduct regular on-site visits and account reviews

· Conduct product demonstrations and on-site equipment trials; explain features, benefits, and ROI for Toro equipment

· Prepare and present proposals, negotiate pricing/terms, and close sales to meet/exceed targets

· Coordinate with internal partners to ensure smooth order processing, delivery, financing, and after-sale support

· Track sales activities, forecast monthly/quarterly results, and maintain CRM records accurately

· Attend trade shows, industry events, and manufacturer training; stay current on Toro product lineup and competitive landscape

Requirements

  

Required Qualifications:

Smith Turf & Irrigation is seeking an individual that is self-motivated, driven, organized and professional. This individual is seeking an opportunity for growth. Success should be familiar to this individual. The skills and experience we seek in this individual are:

  • 3+ years outside sales experience, preferably in commercial equipment, turf care, landscaping, or related B2B sales
  • Proven track record meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Strong knowledge of commercial turf equipment or ability to learn technical product details quickly
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within assigned territory

Preferred Qualifications:

· Existing relationships within the turf/golf/municipal/landscape markets

· Experience selling Toro or other major turf equipment brands

· Technical training or certificate in turf equipment maintenance or landscape management


Skills & Attributes:

· Excellent interpersonal skills, presentation, and negotiation skills

· Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working independently

· Strong organizational skills and proficiency with CRM systems

· Mechanical aptitude and ability to discuss technical specifications with customers 

· Professional appearance and strong customer service orientation


Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

· Regular travel by vehicle; frequent on-site visits and outdoor demonstrations

· Ability to lift up to 75lbs occasionally and participate in equipment demonstrations and walkarounds

· Flexible schedule including occasional evenings or weekends for events and customer needs
