Position Summary
The Director of eCommerce is responsible for the successful execution of all commerce implementations and complex support engagements within the Commerce & Omnichannel practice.
This role provides leadership for delivery governance, project health monitoring, and escalation management across the commerce portfolio.
The Director of eCommerce works closely with the Managing Director, Chief Architect, and Operations leadership to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within financial expectations.
Primary Responsibilities
Commerce Delivery Governance
- Lead delivery governance across all commerce implementations
- Conduct weekly portfolio health reviews across active engagements
- Monitor delivery risk, schedule performance, and scope management
- Ensure delivery standards and project governance frameworks are followed
Escalation Management
- Serve as the primary escalation point for delivery issues
- Support Project Managers in resolving complex client situations
- Intervene in projects when delivery risk increases
- Coordinate cross-functional resolution of project challenges
Implementation Standards & Methodology
- Define and maintain delivery best practices for commerce projects
- Establish governance frameworks for scope control and change management
- Standardize delivery methodologies across platforms
- Improve consistency of delivery processes
Collaboration with Architecture Leadership
- Partner with the Chief / Lead Architect to ensure technical feasibility
- Align delivery plans with architectural decisions
- Monitor integration and platform complexity risks
- Ensure architectural assumptions remain deliverable during execution
Presales Delivery Validation
- Participate in estimate validation for complex engagements
- Identify delivery risks during presales
- Ensure proposed solutions can be executed successfully
- Support scope definition during proposal development
Portfolio Performance Monitoring
- Monitor project margins and delivery performance
- Identify projects trending toward risk or margin erosion
- Work with PMs to correct delivery issues early
- Maintain visibility into overall portfolio health

Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience delivering digital commerce or enterprise software projects
- 4+ years of experience managing delivery teams or portfolios
- Experience overseeing multiple concurrent commerce implementations
- Strong familiarity with commerce platforms such as Shopify, BigCommerce, Adobe Commerce, or OroCommerce
