Position Summary
The Assembler plays a critical hands-on role in Palmer Hamilton’s Trim Department by assembling tables and furniture components in accordance with detailed specifications, quality standards, and production schedules. This position requires precision, efficiency, and attention to detail to ensure finished products meet Palmer Hamilton’s high standards for craftsmanship and durability.
The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment and takes pride in producing high-quality, inspection-ready products using a variety of power hand tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assembly & Production
- Assemble furniture and table components using power hand tools including rivet guns, screw guns, drills, and impact drivers.
- Follow written and verbal assembly instructions, blueprints, and work orders accurately.
- Meet established hourly and daily production rates while maintaining quality standards.
- Handle materials and components carefully to prevent damage during assembly.
Quality Control & Rework
- Inspect parts and finished products to ensure compliance with quality and inspection standards.
- Perform rework and repairs on furniture items as needed.
- Identify and report quality concerns or defects promptly to supervisors or team leads.
Material Handling & Workflow Support
- Move materials, components, and finished products within the department to support workflow and organization.
- Assist in preparing assembled products for shipment, including packaging and labeling as required.
Equipment Care & Safety
- Perform basic preventative maintenance on tools and equipment used in the assembly process.
- Follow all safety guidelines, procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies
- Proficiency using power hand tools such as rivet guns, screw guns, drills, and impact drivers.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to read and follow blueprints, assembly instructions, and production documentation.
- Basic math and reading comprehension skills.
- Strong time-management skills and ability to remain focused in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating power hand tools required; furniture or manufacturing assembly experience preferred.
- Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and stay on task.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Work Environment
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment within the Trim Department. The employee may be exposed to noise, dust, moving equipment, and temperature variations. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in accordance with company safety policies.
