Description

Job Summary: The Applications Administrator for Windows will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for the complete lifecycle management of Government and Commercial Off-the-Shelf (GOTS/COTS) applications hosted primarily on the Windows Server platform. This role focuses on ensuring the stability, performance, and security of the Agency’s business-critical applications.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive application administration for Windows-hosted applications, including installation, testing, deployment,      debugging, patching, event logging, and updates.
  • Serve as the SME for all supported applications, troubleshooting concerns, responding to user inquiries, and providing technical support and guidance to Agency users and IT managers.
  • Configure user access, monitor system stability and security, and manage and sustain application-side operations to support      business-critical and development activities.
  • Perform application maintenance, review error logs to resolve reported issues, and coordinate with IT System Administrators and other teams to resolve infrastructure-related problems.   
  • Support application and website monitoring during core business hours and provide on-call support for mission-critical incidents at all other times, responding to production outages and performing root cause analysis.
  • Coordinate and support all software upgrades, disaster recovery tests, and the implementation of new technologies for applications and systems related to these tasks.
  • Support incident management by applying ITIL best practices to restore normal operations, minimize business impact, and prevent future outages. 
  • Assist with setting up external connections, managing whitelisting activities, and validating port and protocol requests. 
Requirements
  • Must have Government IT Contracting experience.
  • Must have either:
  • A minimum bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or 
  • Hold an active Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certification. 
  • Requires 5 years of experience in of current experience in the field.
