Description

ATSI support services are growing. We are currently seeking a dedicated professional with a proven track record of success to join our team. This full-time position supports the Office of Naval Research (ONR). The TechSolutions Program – Technical Specialist will provide technical and program support to the ONR Global TechSolutions program.


The selected candidate will accept technical tasking and task prioritization direction from the ONR Global Director of TechSolutions, who will serve as the Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) for this position. The role will support the identification, evaluation, and transition of innovative science and technology solutions that address operational challenges identified by Navy and Marine Corps warfighters.


The ideal candidate will possess operational Navy experience combined with technical expertise in science and technology development, and be capable of coordinating across research organizations, program offices, and operational stakeholders to support the transition of emerging technologies to the Fleet.

Requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in civil, mechanical, materials, or industrial engineering, or a closely related technical field in engineering or physical sciences, with at least seven (7) years of experience in DoD science and technology development.
  • Documented qualification as having served in one of the following operational capacities: U.S. Navy Surface Warfare Officer (SWO), U.S. Navy Submarine Officer, or Pilot in Command of a U.S. Navy or Marine Corps Tactical Aircraft
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while supporting ONR leadership and program stakeholders.

Desired additional qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with ONR Program Officers, ONR Global Science Advisors, warfighters, acquisition sponsors in program offices, transition sponsors in OPNAV or TYCOMs, and engineers and scientists across the Naval Research & Development Establishment (NR&DE).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a Department of the Navy Acquisition Program Office or Systems Command, facilitating collaboration on Science and Technology issues between Navy stakeholders such as OPNAV, PEO/PM organizations, and Fleet Forces.
  • Working knowledge of the Naval Research and Development Establishment (NR&DE) community, including Naval Warfare Centers, Systems Commands (SYSCOMs), laboratories, and University Affiliated Research Centers (UARCs).
