A Healthcare Documentation Proofreader is responsible for reviewing and proofreading 110–150 minutes of clinical documentation per work shift, ensuring adherence to established file processing rates and meeting all client expectations for turnaround time and quality. This role demands exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain consistency in both medical content and language standards.
The ideal candidate is a highly skilled professional with comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and English grammar. They are responsible for identifying and correcting errors, ensuring clarity, completeness, and accuracy of medical reports, and supporting high-quality healthcare documentation practices.
In addition, the Healthcare Documentation Proofreader must strictly adhere to HIPAA standards and all applicable privacy and security regulations. This includes maintaining the confidentiality of patient health information, following secure data-handling procedures, and ensuring compliance with all organizational and regulatory requirements related to the protection of sensitive medical data.
