Stafford House Study Holiday Program (SHSH) is part of CATS Global Schools (CGS) one of the leading providers of pre-university academic courses and English language courses hosting international students aged 12-18. The program is designed to provide short-term language courses with evenly balanced academics, social activities, sports and excursions in a safe, well-managed environment. 


Each year, Stafford House opens ‘pop-up’ schools in multiple locations across the US and UK. These schools focus on offering an all-inclusive language and cultural experience for juniors students (ages 10-18). In addition to daily ESL classes, Study Holidays students participate in a robust activities program that allows them to practice their English through sports and other social activities on campus as well as regular excursions to popular cultural & historical attractions within the New England area.  


In order to ensure that our students have an exciting, inspiring & safe experience, staff members will collaborate in the following areas: 

• Academics

• Activities

• Housing & Meals

• Transportation

• Student Welfare (health, safety, supervision, support) 


Activity Leaders wear many hats, including tour guide, chaperone & language mentor. They are responsible for ensuring that activities are both fun and safe for students.  The dates of employment for this role are mid-June to early August 2026.


Main Duties/Responsibilities: 

As an Activity Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of students in the dorm. 

Typical activities will include:

  • 3 afternoon excursions in the Greater Boston Area (M,W,F)
  • 2 afternoon activities on-site. Ex. Sports, Arts, Games (Tu, Th)
  • 1 full-day excursion to Greater New England attractions (Sat.)
  • After-dinner socializing activities (Nightly)
Requirements

Essential Qualities:

• Enthusiasm & energy

• Passion for sharing New England culture with international students

• Flexible schedule - you will be required to work weekends and evenings

• Responsible - you will be working with underage students

• Ability to maintain composure in the face of difficult requests

• Sensitivity to cultural differences among international students

• Legal eligibility to work in the U.S (we are unable to provide sponsorship for visas)


Special consideration will be given to applicants with:

• Previous experience in industry (ESL, Juniors Camps)

• Strong communication skills in a language other than English

• The ability to take on additional roles within the center, including teaching or residential supervision

• Familiarity with the Boston/New England area


Compensation:

• $17.85-$19.43/hour

• On-site housing provided

• On-site meals provided

Salary Description
$17.85-$19.43 per hour
