Schedule:

Week 1: Sunday 11:30am-8:00pm, Wednesday 3:00pm-8:00pm, Thursday 3:00pm-8:00pm

Week 2: Tuesday 3:00pm-8:00pm, Friday 11:30am-8:00pm, Saturday 11:30am-8:00pm


Position Overview:
Children’s Home Society of South Dakota is seeking a Part Time Cook to help prepare meals and snacks for clients and on-duty staff at our Shelter for Family Safety. What You Will Do:

  • Food Preparation: Fulfill menu requirements and serve meals.
  • Cleaning Duties: Wash pots and pans, trays, dishes, etc. Take out kitchen trash to outside trash bins.
  • Food Storage: Cover, label and date all suitable leftovers for storage.
  • Cleanliness: Maintain personal cleanliness, as well as cleanliness of the kitchen and storage areas.
  • Compliance: Take and record food temperatures at mealtime. Take and record refrigerator, freezer and dishwashing machine temperatures.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Education: High school degree or GED required.
  • Experience: Some experience in quantity food production preferred.
  • Must be over 21 years of age.


Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Requires standing for extended periods of time. Exposure to tools, utensils, equipment, and cleaning materials, requiring attentive and safe utilization.
