Job Summary:
The Pre-Sales Engineer serves as the technical bridge between our sales team and our installation departments. You will be responsible for translating complex customer needs into functional, integrated electronic security solutions. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in CAD and security systems, financial acumen for labor and material pricing, and the communication skills to lead high-level technical discovery with clients. This is a remote position and a qualified candidate can be located anywhere within our footprint. We have 1 opening for a Pre-Sales Engineer.
System Design & Technical Estimating
- Design & Pricing: Architect comprehensive pre-sale system designs and establish accurate pricing for electronic security projects.
- BOM & Scopes: Collaborate directly with Account Managers to develop detailed Bills of Materials (BOM) and comprehensive Scopes of Work (SOW).
- Labor Costing: Calculate and price all labor requirements for installations to ensure project profitability and feasibility.
- CAD & Documentation: Create technical CAD drawings for cabling, system layouts, and device placement to be used for both bidding and installation.
Sales & Project Support
- Sales Consultation: Provide expert technical support to Account Managers, including attending customer meetings to lead technical discovery and site surveys.
- RFP Leadership: Lead the technical response for RFPs and manage the design of large-scale or high-complexity projects.
- Project Hand-off: Ensure a seamless transition from sales to operations by compiling "Job Folders" containing only relevant floor plans, wiring diagrams, and stakeholder contact lists (IT support, Security Officers, etc.).
Integration & Technical Execution
- System Integration: Design and support the integration of disparate electronic security platforms.
- Field Support: Offer technical guidance for installations and provide "Account Manager only" technical support (focusing on product specifications rather than general service).
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, preferred.
- 5+ year commercial security engineering experience with a demonstrated, successful track record of leading and managing electronic security projects in the field.
- 10+ years if electronic security field experience along with working with sales on pre-sales applications and site surveys assistance as needed
