Position Summary

The Appliance Setter is responsible for installing and securing according to specifications. This role requires technical skill, attention to detail, and the ability to follow blueprints, product orders, and safety procedures. Employees are expected to work safely, accurately, and collaboratively to meet production goals. You are a vital part of the daily operations; consequently, it is your responsibility to be at your workstation at the time you are scheduled to start work.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Appliance Installation & Setup

  • Prep and set appliances according to product specifications and installation instructions.
  • Use appropriate hand and power tools (screw guns, nail guns, staple guns, saws, etc.) to complete tasks.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring schematics, and tape measurements accurately.
  • Troubleshoot and perform problem-solving as needed during appliance installation.
  • Perform all tasks start to finish on assigned units.
  • Test appliance installations to ensure proper operation.


Operational & Safety Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
  • Arrive on time and be at the assigned workstation at the start of the shift.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines; always be safety conscious.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively with team members to complete projects on time.


General Support

  • Complete additional tasks or projects assigned by the Production Supervisor.
  • Participate in cross-training in related production tasks to ensure adequate coverage, support workflow demands and enhance overall team flexibility.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience working in an RV/trailer factory is preferred.
  • Experience using saws (chop saws, hole saws) and other power tools is highly desired.
  • You must possess basic hand tools.
  • Previous RV skill sets such as electrical; plumbing, flooring, and hydraulics are highly desirable.
  • Strongly preferred: experience installing cook tops, fryers, and refrigerators.
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure and interpret blueprints and wiring schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Effectively communicate with fellow employees.
  • Previous experience handling nitrogen and Freon for unit testing are preferred.

Education & Experience

  • No prior experience required; training will be provided.
  • Manufacturing or assembly experience preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

Employees in this position must be able to perform the following physical activities as part of daily manufacturing operations:

  • Stand, walk, sit, bend, kneel, twist, and reach for extended periods.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. routinely; heavier lifting may be required with assistance.
  • Perform repetitive motions, including reaching, grasping, handling tools, and manipulating small parts.
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and other production equipment.
  • Climb and work from ladders, platforms, or step stools as needed.
  • Work in environments that may be hot, cold, dusty, or noisy depending on the production area.
  • Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and other safety gear.
  • Maintain the ability to visually inspect materials and components and hear instructions, alarms, and safety signals.
