POSITION SUMMARY

  • The Director of Project Delivery is responsible for the strategic oversight and comprehensive management of multiple utility-scale power infrastructure projects. This role emphasizes safety, quality assurance, cost optimization, schedule adherence, subcontractor coordination, and supplier management. You will guide the end-to-end execution of complex projects — from renewable energy facilities and substations to transmission and distribution infrastructure — ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Planning & Execution

  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, strategies, and execution frameworks that align with organizational objectives, client specifications, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead pre-bid site assessments, risk analyses, and feasibility studies to identify challenges, optimize resources, and enhance project viability.
  • Oversee all phases of project execution, collaborating closely with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations teams.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources, tracking progress and implementing adjustments to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery.

Risk Management & Quality Assurance

  • Continuously monitor project performance metrics, identify emerging risks or delays, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with Safety and Quality Assurance teams to enforce protocols that prioritize worker safety, environmental stewardship, and superior craftsmanship.
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build, mentor, and lead high-performing, multidisciplinary project teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing project data, soliciting feedback, and implementing process enhancements across the portfolio.

Stakeholder Management

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders (senior leadership, cross-functional teams) and external parties (clients, vendors, subcontractors, regulators, utilities).
  • Prepare and deliver financial reports, progress updates, risk assessments, and forecasts during status meetings for senior management and clients.
  • Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure smooth handover and asset optimization post-construction.

Project Closeout

  • Conduct final inspections, audits, and documentation reviews to confirm project completion, verify compliance, and facilitate closeout processes, including warranty management and lessons learned sessions.
Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical), Construction Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Extensive senior-level experience in project management, engineering, or construction roles with utility-scale power infrastructure projects (substations, transmission lines, renewable energy systems).
  • Strong technical expertise in utility-scale power systems, installation techniques, commissioning, and operational best practices.
  • Proven leadership with experience managing cross-functional teams in high-stakes, fast-paced environments.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software (Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, ERP systems).
  • Relevant professional certifications preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with substation commissioning, testing, energization, and grid integration; knowledge of electrical safety protocols and standards.
