Main Purpose:
The Quality Control (QC) Inspector Lead is responsible for leading a team of Quality Control Inspectors, ensuring the quality of the product, as defined in the Engineering drawings, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions, are being met. This role will be responsible for gathering and maintaining an understanding of all the Enclosure areas, such as Pre-Fabrication; Enclosure Assembly and Roofs, Doors and Sub-assembly (RDS); Painting; Final Assembly and Electrical.
Essential Functions:
- Provide daily direction, guidance, and support to Quality Control Inspectors to ensure consistent application of inspection standards and procedures
- Be the first line quality contact for in-process issues in shops
- Oversee the workflow of inspections to ensure appropriate prioritization, timely completion and proper documentation
- Organize and Manage server quality folders for all Enclosure units
- Review folders for all units to ensure all sign-offs and photographs are present for units prior to shipping to customers
- Work close with Project Managers to confirm all data is present and complete before units are shipped out
- Maintain calibration log for all Enclosure tools and equipment
- Train inspectors on inspection techniques, documentation requirements, measurement tools and company quality standards
- Read and interpret Engineering drawings, work instructions etc. to understand the requirements of the products
- Verify that products meet Engineering drawing requirements, SOP parameters and customer specifications, intervening when deviations are detected
- Review inspection and testing records completed by inspectors for accuracy, completeness and compliance
- Serve as a back-up floor inspector as conditions may warrant
- Assist Production to ensure quality is built into the product without interfering with the production process
- Assist to resolve quality related issues in a timely manner
- Support the Quality Engineer and Quality Manager as necessary to complete daily tasks and projects
- Communicate clearly with Production and Engineering as necessary to resolve quality issues
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years experience as a Quality Control Inspector with a focus on manufacturing / assemblies
- 1+ years experience in a QC supervisory position
- Strong understanding of quality control principals and standards
- Good math and technical skills
- Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
- Must be able to pass a background check
Desirable Experience, Education and Training:
- Previous experience in QC Inspection for generator enclosures or similar assembly projects
- Basic understanding of the National Electric Code (NEC)
Tools, Equipment and Technology:
- Computer and office equipment, tape measure, pressure gauges, torque wrenches, other various tools etc.
Environmental Conditions:
70 to 80% of the work activities are performed outdoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet and dry conditions, dust, mud etc. They will also be exposed to paint thinner and paint fumes.
