Position Summary
FW Logistics is a family-owned, growth-oriented third-party logistics (3PL) provider founded in 1949. We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll & Human Resources Generalist to support our growing workforce.
This role serves as the sole owner of payroll administration for the organization, ensuring accurate and timely weekly payroll processing using Paylocity, while also serving as an HR Generalist supporting employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and day-to-day HR operations. Accuracy, confidentiality, and follow-through are critical to success in this position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Payroll (Primary Responsibility)
· Acts as the primary internal point of contact for all payroll-related matters.
· Process weekly payroll for all employees using Paylocity, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
· Review timecards, PTO, deductions, garnishments, and adjustments prior to payroll submission.
· Ensure payroll complies with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
· Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, pay issues, and employee inquiries.
· Maintain payroll records and documentation in accordance with company policy and legal requirements.
· Coordinate with Finance and HR leadership on payroll audits, reporting, and reconciliations.
Human Resources Generalist Functions
· Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related questions and requests.
· Assist with employee onboarding, offboarding, and personnel file maintenance.
· Assist with background checks of new hire employees
· Administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plans.
· Coordinate open enrollment and communicate benefit changes to employees.
· Assist with leave administration (FMLA, ADA, workers’ compensation, etc.).
· Support employee communications, policy acknowledgements, and HR notifications.
· Maintain compliance with employment laws and company policies.
· Assist with audits, reporting, and HR projects as assigned.
· Partner with HR leadership to support employee engagement and retention initiatives.
· 2+ years of experience in payroll processing, preferably weekly payroll.
· Working knowledge of payroll laws and HR best practices.
· Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
· Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Preferred
· Hands-on experience with Paylocity (strongly preferred).
· Experience in a logistics, trucking, warehousing, or multi-location environment.
· Prior HR Generalist experience.
· Familiarity with benefits administration and retirement plans.
· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Accounting, or related field.
