Description
General Respobsibilities
- Implement US Department of Health and Human Services Head Start program performance standards.
- Manage case load for Expectant Mother’s Initiative, providing guidance and technical assistance.
- Conduct recruitment activities, maintaining a census of 26 pregnant or postpartum women.
- Develop and maintain record-keeping and reporting systems.
- Implement prenatal and postnatal curricula, informing parents of community health resources.
- Assist expectant mothers with appointments and home visits.
- Conduct training for expectant mothers and families, investigating health-related issues.
- Promote preventative health services and early intervention, monitoring activities.
- Assist women and children in obtaining dental and medical services and determining financial eligibility for program enrollment.
- Ensure prenatal and postnatal medical exams are completed, maintaining compliance with policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned within the guidelines of this position.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, social service, or related field; or Licensed Practical Nurse with current Illinois license.
- Minimum of one year of experience in maternal and child health or related social services field with pregnant women and/or young children.
- Bilingual Spanish oral and written skills preferred.
- Knowledge of maternal-infant health and child abuse/neglect dynamics.
- Familiarity with health resources in Will and surrounding counties.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse cultures and backgrounds.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Passage of background clearance, physical, and TB test, with valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of liability insurance.
Salary Description
$27.84/hour 37.5 hours/week
