As the Catering Sales Manager, you will prospect, grow, and manage corporate catering and group business, playing a key role in achieving monthly and annual revenue goals. This role blends sales strategy, client partnership, and onsite event support to create experiences that exceed expectations and strengthen our hotel’s market presence.


You will serve as a trusted expert for clients—designing tailored event solutions, leading site visits, and ensuring flawless execution in collaboration with operational partners.


Essential Functions


Sales & Business Development

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while continuously developing new accounts.
  • Proactively solicit new business through outbound calls, emails, networking, tradeshows, and local sales calls.
  • Conduct property tours, site inspections, and competitive set tours to build market intelligence and referral networks.
  • Review competition reader boards weekly to identify trends and new lead opportunities.
  • Participate in industry meetings, community events, and professional organizations to expand brand visibility.

Account Management & Event Planning

  • Manage all account details to ensure thorough documentation, communication, and follow-through.
  • Work closely with clients to understand event goals, customize menus and setups, and create detailed, accurate event plans.
  • Respond to all sales leads within 24 hours to uphold service excellence.
  • Conduct weekly sales calls to strengthen partnerships and discover new opportunities.
  • Attend and support events, greeting group contacts onsite to ensure client satisfaction and seamless execution.

Revenue, Reporting & Organization

  • Achieve budgeted catering revenue goals across food, beverage, room rental, and audio/visual categories.
  • Prepare and submit accurate monthly forecasts and sales reports.
  • Organize workload effectively, maintaining exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple events at once.
  • Adapt responsibilities as needed to meet the evolving needs of the hotel.


Requirements


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary workplace language.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, serving as a leader within team environments.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including email, CRM systems, and sales platforms.
  • Knowledge of hotel operations, group markets, and competitive landscape.
  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to consistently deliver and maintain guest satisfaction.
  • Confident decision-making skills with the ability to work within general policies and guidelines.

Availability


This hotel operates 24/7. While the position generally works Monday–Friday, scheduling flexibility is required to meet business needs, which may include:

  • Occasional evenings or weekends
  • Adjusted hours for events, client meetings, or peak demand periods
    Business volumes and hotel needs will determine weekly hours.


Salary Description
$55,000 - $58,000 per year
