Responsible for providing entry-level seasonal manual labor for the City of Norwood. The primary focus will be on carrying out physical tasks involved in the repair and maintenance of City streets, parks, and related projects as directed by the Public Works Superintendent.
This is a part time seasonal position available through May 1, 2026 through October 1, 2026.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Under supervision, performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled manual tasks in the maintenance, repair, and construction of streets, public grounds, buildings, and facilities.
· Performs various streets maintenance functions including, but not limited to, shoveling, sweeping, raking, mowing, trimming, f, removing shrubs, collecting trash, loading brush, and digging holes.
· Cleans up work sites, tools, and equipment upon job completion. Sweeps and shovels debris and litter, carry heavy objects and loads trucks, and assists in emptying loads at dumpsites.
· Assists with the preparation, organization, and implementation of outdoor park activities and special events as assigned.
· Represents the City professionally in all interactions with members of the community.
· Adheres to all applicable safety practices and regulations, and effectively responds to emergency situations in accordance with the policies and procedures of the City of Norwood

Ability to perform physically demanding maintenance work under hazardous conditions and in all weather conditions. The associate must regularly lift up to 40 pounds.
