Description

Position Summary:

Reporting to the President & CEO, the Marketing Director leads the development and execution of the organization’s marketing and communications strategy to elevate the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson brand and expand awareness of its mission and programs. This role is responsible for promoting youth programming, strengthening community engagement, and supporting fundraising initiatives through strategic communications, digital media, and storytelling.


The Marketing Director works collaboratively with the leadership team, program staff, and resource development team to design and implement integrated marketing campaigns that increase community visibility, drive participation in Club programs, and support donor engagement. This position also oversees social media strategy, website management, and content creation across multiple platforms to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with the organization’s mission.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Marketing & Brand Management: Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that strengthens brand awareness and promotes the organization’s programs, initiatives, and fundraising events. Regularly evaluate marketing efforts and adapt strategies based on performance metrics and engagement outcomes.
  • Content Development & Storytelling: Create compelling written and visual content that highlights the impact of Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson programs. Develop materials including press releases, newsletters, speeches, scripts, promotional materials, and donor communications that effectively communicate the organization’s mission and community impact.
  • Digital Marketing & Social Media Strategy: Manage and grow the organization’s digital presence across social media platforms and online channels. Develop strategies to increase engagement, grow followers, and strengthen brand recognition while ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms.
  • Website & Digital Platform Management: Maintain and update the organization’s website to ensure accurate program information, event promotion, and donor engagement opportunities. Monitor SEO performance and web traffic analytics to improve digital visibility and user experience.
  • Program Promotion & Community Engagement: Collaborate with program teams to promote youth programs and seasonal offerings to families and community members. Develop marketing initiatives aimed at increasing program participation and average daily attendance across all age groups.
  • Fundraising & Donor Communications Support: Partner with the resource development team to create donor-facing communications, including printed materials, digital campaigns, and event promotions. Assist with donor communications, acknowledgments, and engagement efforts that support fundraising initiatives.
  • Media Relations & Public Outreach: Coordinate media outreach and public relations opportunities that elevate awareness of Club activities, youth success stories, and organizational milestones within the community.
  • Visual Media Strategy: Develop and manage a strategy for capturing video and photography of Club activities and events for use in marketing materials, social media, and fundraising communications.
  • Volunteer & Intern Coordination: Supervise and coordinate the work of marketing volunteers and interns as needed, ensuring quality work products that support organizational goals.
  • Leadership & Organizational Culture: Serve as a collaborative member of the leadership team, supporting a positive workplace culture and identifying communication opportunities that strengthen internal engagement and organizational effectiveness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, nonprofit management, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or public relations; nonprofit sector experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing social media platforms, digital marketing campaigns, and website content.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with experience creating a wide range of communications materials, including press releases, newsletters, and promotional content.
  • Experience with marketing analytics, SEO, and web traffic monitoring tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and with community partners.
  • Must meet the requirements to drive for the organization, including being at least 21 years of age, holding a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, and having consistent access to a motor vehicle with required insurance coverage.
