Schedule: Monday - Thursday 7:00AM - 4:30PM

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about creating a positive, comfortable experience for every patient while supporting a smooth and efficient clinical environment. In this role, you will:

  • Prepare each operatory by ensuring all dental equipment is set up and ready to go 
  • Welcome and escort patients to the operatory in a timely and friendly manner 
  • Help patients feel at ease before, during, and after their treatment 
  • Stay with patients, engaging with them and ensuring their comfort until the doctor arrives 
  • Take X-rays as needed, following case notes or referrals 
  • Review and confirm medical history with patients, updating records as needed 
  • Ensure patients understand and feel informed about their treatment 
  • Accurately document all patient information, including clinical notes, treatment details, and any updates or questions 
  • Provide clear post-treatment and oral care instructions to support patient recovery 
  • Partner with the Dental Treatment Coordinator to ensure appointments are scheduled appropriately and efficiently 

You’ll also play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-stocked clinical space by:

  • Properly sterilizing and disinfecting all dental instruments 
  • Stocking operatories and sterilization areas 
  • Communicating supply needs to the Lead Dental Assistant 
  • Assisting with the maintenance of sterilization equipment, handpieces, suction, and X-ray units 

As part of our collaborative team, you will:

  • Support the Lead RDA in training new team members 
  • Represent the practice with professionalism, positivity, and teamwork at all times 
  • Maintain reliable attendance and follow office policies and schedules 
  • Stay flexible and ready to jump in where needed 
  • Participate in continuing education and maintain all required certifications/licenses 
  • Anticipate the needs of both patients and the clinical team with a proactive mindset 
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and patient experience
Requirements
  • Must be comfortable in a fast paced, quickly changing environment.
  • Strong organization, interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
  • Comfortable interacting with the public.
  • As a condition of employment, qualified applicants will be subject to a background check, including criminal history, driving history and character references.

Education and Experience:

  • Current license and/or successful passage of state boards.
  • CPR Certification
  • Successful passage of radiation exam.
  • Minimum two to four (2-4) years of relevant experience, preferably in a dental office.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposure of hazards to eyes, lungs, and other body parts.
  • Exposure to chemicals and potentially hazardous materials.
  • Must wear protective equipment (e.g. goggles, gloves, masks) to protect eyes, handle hot objects, or to avoid inhaling dust.
  • Excellent speaking and listening skills, requiring the perception of speech.
  • Must have high finger dexterity to perform duties involving work on the computer and with instruments.
