We engineer, manufacture, and sell a wide range of standard and custom traffic control products across America. Manufacture traffic control metal components and enclosures using various processes including cutting, punching, deburring, and bending equipment.


MoboTrex is seeking a Production Supervisor to support our manufacturing operations and drive execution across production lines. This role provides hands-on leadership to direct labor and temporary personnel, ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of products aligned with customer requirements.


The Production Supervisor is responsible for meeting daily production targets related to volume, quality, cost, and delivery, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, operational discipline, and employee development. This position plays a key role in coordinating production activities, supporting Lean initiatives, and maintaining strong cross-functional collaboration across Engineering, Supply Chain, and Customer teams.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of hourly production employees and temporary staff to build high-performing, engaged teams 
  • Assign daily work, monitor performance, and provide real-time feedback and accountability 
  • Support recruiting,  interviewing, onboarding, and training of production personnel 
  • Identify skill gaps and implement cross-training and development plans 
  • Provide coaching, counseling, and performance management to drive continuous improvement 

Production Execution & Operations

  • Direct daily manufacturing activities to ensure achievement of production schedules, customer demand, and on-time delivery 
  • Coordinate production across assigned lines, shifts, or work cells to meet volume, quality, and cost targets 
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, and other departments to ensure manufacturing feasibility and operational readiness 
  • Monitor and manage labor utilization, material flow, and equipment availability 
  • Support repair, rework, and assembly processes as required 

Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement

  • Promote and sustain a Lean manufacturing culture, focusing on waste elimination and process efficiency 
  • Identify and implement process improvements to improve productivity, reduce cost, and enhance quality 
  • Participate in and lead Kaizen events, value stream improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives 
  • Analyze production metrics and drive data-based decision making 

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all products meet internal quality standards and customer requirements 
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, safety, quality systems) 
  • Support and participate in product reviews, engineering changes (ECNs), and process validations 
  • Maintain accurate documentation including work instructions, assembly procedures, and production records 

Safety & Work Environment

  • Champion a safe and compliant work environment by enforcing safety policies and procedures 
  • Lead and participate in plant safety programs and initiatives 
  • Ensure proper use of equipment and adherence to safety standards 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient production floor 

Planning & Resource Management

  • Assist in production planning, capacity planning, and space utilization 
  • Identify labor and resource needs to meet production goals 
  • Support budgeting, cost forecasting, and resource allocation 
  • Ensure proper maintenance of manufacturing equipment, including preventive maintenance and repairs 

Reporting & Communication

  • Generate and analyze production reports, KPIs, and operational metrics 
  • Communicate production status, issues, and improvement opportunities to leadership 
  • Interface with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on delivery expectations and project status

  

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred 
  • Minimum 3+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing (electrical/mechanical assembly preferred) 
  • Experience in high-mix, low-to-medium volume manufacturing environments preferred 

  

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills 
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, assembly operations, and production flow 
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and assembly instructions 
  • Experience with ERP systems and production reporting tools 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) 
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in fast-paced environments 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear, stand, and walk.
  • Use of hands for typing, handling devices, and demonstrating products.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
  • Requires the ability to see clearly at close and distant ranges and adjust focus when needed.
