Position Summary

The Foster Care Case Worker provides case management services for children in foster care, ensuring their safety, stability, and progress. This role works closely with foster families, biological families, and community partners to support positive outcomes.

  

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate child placements with supervisor support
  • Maintain case records and documentation
  • Conduct home visits and track progress toward goals
  • Connect families with community resources
  • Facilitate transitions between foster placements
  • Attend court hearings, team meetings, school      staffing, and required visits
  • Ensure compliance with DCFS policies and procedures
  • Maintain weekly activity logs and schedules

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a social service-related field (required)
  • 1+ year of child welfare experience and/or training (required)
  • Experience with adolescents (preferred)
  • Valid IL driver’s license, reliable vehicle, insurance, and registration
  • CWEL and CERAP certifications (preferred)
  • Bilingual skills (preferred)
