O’Neill Vintners & Distillers is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented, and creative Consumer Marketing Specialist to drive the planning and execution of impactful consumer marketing initiatives across the O’Neill brand portfolio. This includes a focus on brand activations and events, consumer-facing communications and advertising, strategic partnerships, and marketing functions both in the market and at our luxury estates. This role will also have the creative opportunity to support and collaborate with brand design, messaging, content creation, merchandising, and other areas that support the needs of the organization. Daily responsibilities in this role require strong organizational, collaborative, and leadership skills, while working cross-functionally with Brand, Sales, Trade, NPD, Hospitality, PR, and external partners to bring brand strategies to life in-market.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Brand Activations & Events:

  • Plan and execute brand activations, partnerships, trade events, distributor events, hospitality experiences, and community events aligned with brand strategies.
  • Assist with in-market planning, including GSMs, launches, distributor events, and incentive trips. Support launch decks and activation toolkits.
  • Ensure all activations reflect the brand’s experiential identity and deliver a cohesive consumer experience.
  • Event Logistics & Vendors: Manage permits, COIs, contracts, shipping, vendor coordination, on-site setup/teardown, and event kits.
  • Experience Design: Support experience design for hospitality and sales activations, ensuring strong brand touchpoints and compliance standards.
  • Compliance: Ensure all events adhere to in-market compliance, event compliance standards, and company policies.

Luxury Estates:

  • Plan and support marketing initiatives for Estates, including Robert Hall and Ram’s Gate, to drive luxury brand messaging through experience, design, communication, and all other consumer touchpoints
  • Support teams leading Estates, such as DTC and Hospitality, in marketing campaigns, promotions, and other consumer touchpoints

Brand Marketing Functions:

  • Design: Support in design-related needs for Brand activations, consumer touchpoints, and Estates
  • Merchandise & Assets: Support in consumer-facing merchandise creation, sourcing, and design as required for events, activations, estates, and other consumer-facing outlets
  • Budget Management: Track project-based budgets and maintain spend within approved GL accounts; support the approvals process.
  • Partnership Support: Assist in identifying and executing trending partnerships and community initiatives that enhance brand awareness.
  • PR/Communication: Support in PR/Communication functions to drive consumer brand awareness

Collaboration:

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with Sales, Hospitality, PR, DTC, agencies, and vendors to ensure seamless execution.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams, especially Digital, Creative, Brand, Sales, People & Culture, and Hospitality, to align activation and partnership strategies with broader business goals.
  • Support company-wide initiatives

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, hospitality, wine and viticulture, graphic communications, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1-2 years of experience in brand activations, event marketing, experiential marketing, or related field; wine or lifestyle industry preferred.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience managing vendors, contracts, and on-site event execution.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Leadership abilities with a solution-oriented and positive mindset.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following: 

  • Ability to sit, stand, and move for prolonged periods during events and activations.
  • Lift and carry event-related materials and supplies, up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to adapt to high-stress situations and problem-solve quickly in dynamic environments.
  • Perform some repetitive motion activities.
  • Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Hybrid work environment with travel required for on-site events, partner meetings, and activations.
  • May involve working evenings, weekends, or holidays to support event execution.
  • The office environment includes low to moderate noise levels, with occasional exposure to outdoor or event-specific conditions.


California Pay Transparency Notice: This position is classified as exempt. The compensation range for this role is $70,304 to $72,400. Candidates are generally not hired at or near the maximum of the salary range. Final salary placement will depend on several factors, which may include the candidate’s qualifications, education, relevant experience, and alignment with current market data.
