Description

Summary

The Director of Strategic Partnerships (DSP) is responsible for leading new business development and revenue growth within an assigned geographic territory. This role serves as the primary commercial leader for territory expansion, owning the full lifecycle of new opportunity development—from prospecting and relationship building to proposal development, contracting, and deal closure.

Operating within engage2learn’s territory-based sales model, the DSP works in close partnership with the Executive Director of Partner Success (EDPS) to ensure strong alignment between sales execution and successful partner implementation. Together, this partnership balances growth with execution quality and strengthens renewal and expansion outcomes across district partnerships.

The DSP collaborates closely with Vice Presidents of Partnerships, marketing, product, and partner success teams to ensure pipeline health, territory planning, and go-to-market effectiveness.


Responsibilities

Territory Growth & New Business Development

  • Own new business acquisition within an assigned territory, including both inbound and outbound opportunities.
  • Develop and execute a territory growth strategy aligned with engage2learn’s go-to-market priorities and growth objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with district leaders, education organizations, and strategic partners to identify and develop opportunities.
  • Translate district needs into well-scoped engagements aligned to engage2learn’s services and solutions.
  • Represent engage2learn at conferences, professional associations, and industry events to generate demand and expand awareness.

Opportunity Development & Deal Execution

  • Lead the full sales cycle for new business opportunities, including qualification, discovery, proposal development, pricing, contracting, and procurement coordination.
  • Ensure effective inbound lead qualification and outbound prospecting
  • Develop strategic proposals that align district priorities with engage2learn’s impact model and service offerings.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director of Partner Success to ensure alignment between sales commitments and delivery capacity.
  • Maintain accountability for pipeline health, opportunity progression, and territory revenue forecasting.

Strategic Partnerships & Ecosystem Development

  • Identify, develop, and manage partnerships with education organizations, state associations, and other strategic partners that can generate new opportunities.
  • Facilitate collaboration between engage2learn and external partners to support district initiatives, grants, and capacity-building efforts.
  • Conduct regular partner engagement and business reviews to strengthen long-term strategic relationships.
  • Serve as a key external ambassador for engage2learn’s mission and solutions.

Territory Collaboration & Execution

  • Work closely with the Executive Director of Partner Success to support renewals, expansions, and partner success outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the VPs of Partnerships to maintain forecasting discipline and ensure territory planning alignment.
  • Contribute insights from district conversations to inform product development, marketing strategy, and strategic initiatives.
Requirements

Requirements

The successful applicant will demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in business development, partnerships, or sales.
  • Experience within K-12 education, education services, or EdTech preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage strategic partnerships and long-term client relationships.
  • Strong consultative selling and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to translate complex client needs into well-defined engagement opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Proficiency in modern productivity tools and CRM platforms.
  • Proficiency in Google G-Suite and Apple for Education
  • Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines
  • High level of proficiency in technology tools and apps that increase productivity and efficiency
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

Position Details

  • This is a full-time, exempt position.
  • This is a hybrid position.
  • Standard work hours are Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. with additional hours as necessary.
  • Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
  • 401K and other benefits offered.
  • Full-time employees receive 6 weeks of PTO per year.
