Description

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a crucial role in our organization by delivering exceptional financial, administrative, and clerical support. You will be entrusted with the responsibility of processing payments, ensuring timely transactions, and maintaining accurate records of our short-term debts. Requirements
  • Transaction Entry: Post business transactions, process invoices, and verify financial data for accounts payable records.
  • Specialized Payment Cycles: Ensure the timely and accurate processing of monthly royalty payments and independent contractor commissions.
  • Journal Entry Creation: Create journal entries with precision and accuracy.
  • Independent Contractor Maintenance: Monitor and maintain documentation for independent contractors, including tax form completion and payment method assignments.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous records of all payments, expenditures, purchase orders, statements, and correspondence.
  • Financial Integrity: Practice effective monitoring to ensure timely vendor payments, clarify questionable invoice items, and protect the business against unintentional overpayment.
  • Reporting & Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements, input daily bookkeeping, and prepare periodic financial reports as necessary.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively seek ways to improve payment processes and assist with other departmental duties as assigned.

Education, Qualifications, and Experience:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of AR/AP-related experience preferred.
  • Expertise: A firm understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping is required.
  • Preferred Education: A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Management is highly beneficial.

Physical Dimensions

While performing the duties of this role, the employee is often required to: sit; use hands in repetitive motions to finger, grasp, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. Employees may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday. The employee is occasionally required to: stand; walk; and lift or reach with hands and arms.  

Must be able to operate routine office equipment, including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in an emergency. Ability to lift 20 pounds (if necessary for office supplies or materials). 

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
