About Helix Linear

Helix Linear Technologies designs and manufactures high-precision motion control systems for industries where performance matters most, including aerospace, medical devices, defense, and advanced automation. Our products power mission-critical applications where reliability and precision down to ±0.0001 inches make all the difference.

Our vision is to engineer what's possible in motion, with precision, integrity, and purpose. We pursue that vision by designing, machining, grinding, and assembling critical motion components in-house, including precision ball screws and linear systems. Our clean, climate-controlled facility is equipped with advanced manufacturing equipment including Citizen Swiss lathes, multi-axis CNC mills, precision grinders, and specialized assembly and test systems.

Helix is growing and investing in new equipment, advanced processes, and the systems required to scale with discipline. As we expand, we're building a world-class precision manufacturing operation, which means higher standards for ownership, communication, urgency, and accountability across every role on the floor.

About the Position

The Bar Group Machinist operates thread rolling and centerless grinding equipment to produce precision components that meet Helix quality standards and ISO 9001 / AS9100 requirements.

This role is part of a cross-training initiative designed to support single-piece flow across both operations. You don't need experience in both processes, Helix will train where you haven't worked. What matters is that you can operate complex production machinery with precision and discipline, and that you're willing to develop across both functions over time.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate thread rolling machinery to produce components to print
  • Set up and operate centerless grinding equipment to required dimensional and surface finish specifications
  • Inspect parts using micrometers, indicators, and other precision measuring tools; verify compliance with print requirements
  • Identify dimensional or surface defects early; make offset or setup adjustments to maintain process control
  • Document inspection results and production output accurately
  • Move material to the next workstation using appropriate material handling equipment
  • Follow work instructions, quality standards, and ISO 9001 / AS9100 procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Support continuous improvement efforts and assist with other duties as assigned

What Success Looks Like

  • Parts consistently meet dimensional, surface finish, and thread form requirements
  • Stable processes with minimal scrap and rework
  • Accurate inspection documentation and early identification of issues
  • Steady progression toward independent operation of both thread rolling and grinding equipment
  • Safe operation and clean workstation maintained daily
