Employment Type: Full-time, W2 position with Cogent People Inc. 
This is a direct hire position with full benefits.  


Location: Hybrid (Columbia, MD – 2 days onsite per week) OR Remote (as applicable to role)  


Work Authorization Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid EAD holder   
  • Must have lived in the United States for at least 3 of the past 5 years   
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Job Overview: 

Cogent People Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated Salesforce Architect to join our innovative IT team. In this role, you will develop Salesforce solutions in support of the Federal Government. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in all aspects of Salesforce platform (Apex, LWC, Flow, data integrations), experience with Agentic AI, and DevSecOps practices as applies to Salesforce. 


Responsibilities: 

  • Design, develop and maintain end-to-end Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Flow, delivering both declarative and custom-coded solutions. 
  • Define data models, integration patterns, security models, and scalability strategies. 
  • Develop and maintain Salesforce integrations using files exchange and APIs. 
  • Develop and maintain AI-driven solutions leveraging AgentForce, Einstein, and agentic AI architectures. 
  • Participate in troubleshooting and resolution of production incidents. 
  • Collaborate effectively with program stakeholders, including business/operations, technology teams, and government officials. 
  • Define and enforce DevSecOps practices such as version control or CI/CD pipelines, as applicable. 
Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 
  • 8+ of hands-on experience in Salesforce development, including Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow, Platform Events, and data integrations. 
  • 5+ years supporting Salesforce implementation in production environments. 
  • 3+ years of experience in technology leadership role (e.g., architect or team lead) 
  • Proven experience architecting, delivering, and supporting production Salesforce systems. 
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with AWS services, external applications, MS Office 365, and other Salesforce organizations. 
  • Strong knowledge and experience implementing emerging AI capabilities, including AgentForce, Salesforce Einstein, AI agents, and agentic AI architectures. 
  • Ability to collaborate across teams including testing, security, and compliance. 
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality and accurate work.  
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams, including ability to effectively present solutions to program leadership and government stakeholders. 
  • Proven ability to manage time and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Salesforce Architect (e.g., Data, Integration) certification(s) and/or Salesforce Designer & Architect Credentials (Application Architect, System Architect, Technical Architect) 
  • Experience in federal government programs, or regulated environments
