SUMMARY
The Digital Asset Specialist is responsible for the ingestion, organization, management, and distribution of digital media assets across the company’s Digital Asset Management (DAM) and Media Asset Management (MAM) systems. This role plays a key part in ensuring assets are accurately ingested, properly tagged, and readily accessible to support downstream workflows across the media supply chain.
Responsibilities include metadata application, quality control, troubleshooting asset issues, and maintaining the integrity of asset libraries through audits, reporting, and lifecycle management. This position works cross-functionally with teams including Marketing, Promotions, Worldwide Distribution, Programming, and Media Operations to ensure assets are delivered efficiently and meet technical and business requirements.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. While deep system expertise is not required, a strong foundational understanding of audiovisual formats, codecs, and file structures is essential.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ingest, archive, and manage digital assets within DAM and MAM systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness of asset records.
- Coordinate the collection of digital assets from internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Apply and maintain metadata, taxonomy, and usage rights to ensure assets are searchable, compliant, and properly categorized.
- Facilitate secure transfer and delivery of assets to internal teams and external vendors using approved transport systems.
- Perform ongoing media management of online and nearline storage environments, including file organization and lifecycle maintenance.
- Manage and support LTO archive processes, including tracking, retrieval, and long-term storage integrity.
- Maintain and enforce file naming conventions, folder structures, and metadata standards.
- Monitor storage environments and system health; generate reports and provide insights on asset usage and capacity.
- Provide Level 1 support for DAM and MAM systems, troubleshooting asset, metadata, and access-related issues.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve asset discrepancies and ensure timely delivery of content.
- Assist in training and supporting users on DAM/MAM systems and best practices.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
· 1–3 years of experience managing digital assets within a media, entertainment, or related environment.
· Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
· Working knowledge of digital video and audio formats, codecs, wrappers, and file structures.
· Strong computer proficiency across Windows and macOS environments.
· Familiarity with DAM and MAM systems (e.g., eMAM, Bynder, or similar platforms).
· Basic understanding of media delivery and transfer tools (e.g., Aspera, Signiant, FTP).
· Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, InDesign, Premiere) is a plus.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
· Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
· Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across teams and levels.
