JOB SUMMARY


The Ambulatory Care RN is responsible for providing quality triage and patient care utilizing strong assessment skills and point of care testing while practicing within the scope of practice defined by the State Board of Nursing. Collaborates with clinicians to assess and establish plan of care for complex patients including setting priorities with the patient/family. Demonstrates the ability to triage and coordinate patient care with a proactive approach to both acute and chronic disease management while being an advocate for the patient’s rights, value and belief systems. The Ambulatory Care RN works closely with the interdisciplinary care team to improve quality, patient satisfaction, and is involved in the ongoing development and growth of the practice and staff. 


DEPARTMENT SCOPE OF SERVICE


The BMH-owned or managed physician practices provide medical services in various specialties and offices including OB/GYN, cardiology, orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, podiatry, family practice and internal medicine. The practices are staffed by physicians and other licensed providers who are supported by clinical staff (RNs, LPNs or medical assistants) and clerical staff

(receptionists). Hours vary by practice. 


Requirements

QUALIFICATION

EDUCATION:

  • Graduate of an RN accredited nursing program; BSN preferred. 

EXPERIENCE/SKILL SETS:

  • 3-5 years recent outpatient clinical nursing experience preferred
  • Acute care experience preferred

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION(S):

  • Active State of Vermont RN license
  • Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification

  • OSHA Category I - Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues require use of techniques of Universal Precautions as evidenced with blood borne pathogens standards.

Compensation Disclosure in Accordance with Vermont Act 155

In compliance with Vermont Act 155, Brattleboro Memorial Hospital provides the compensation range for this position in good faith. The listed range represents the pay scale reasonably expected for a successful candidate based on factors such as relevant experience, education, internal equity, and market competitiveness. Final compensation will be determined during the hiring process.
