We are seeking a Lead Veterinary Technician to join our team at Sawtooth Veterinary Services who is driven to support both clinical excellence and team development. This individual will play a key role in shaping hospital workflows, fostering accountability, and promoting a culture centered on consistent, excellent, timely, and thoughtful patient care. The ideal candidate is not only highly skilled technically, but also brings a strong sense of leadership, initiative, and a commitment to developing others.
In this role, you will partner closely with Practice Leadership to support daily operations, coach team members, and help implement improvements that enhance both patient outcomes and overall hospital efficiency. Your ability to lead by example, communicate effectively, and inspire growth will be essential to success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients, including anesthesia monitoring, surgical assistance, and treatment administration
- Support daily workflow by assisting with task delegation and ensuring efficient patient flow
- Train and mentor veterinary assistants/technicians and new team members
- Assist in onboarding and skill development of medical staff
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with hospital protocols
- Communicate effectively with veterinarians, team members, and clients
- Help foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environment

- Active Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) Preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience in a veterinary setting (including training, task assignment, or shift leadership)
- Strong technical skills in anesthesia, dentistry, and patient care
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lead by example and support a team-oriented culture
- Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment and leading and directing daily flow.
