POSITION
The Insurance Claim Follow-up Specialist is responsible for following up with payers regarding outstanding claims, appealing incorrect denials, processing insurance refunds, submitting corrected claims due to changes in coding and filing secondary claims.
This position is full time, Monday - Friday for 8 hours per day. The current location is our Atlanta-Perimeter office with the potential to work remotely a few days a week based on performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Responds to requests from payers for supporting documentation
• Files appeal letters with payer to secure reimbursement
• Files secondary claims after primary claim has been adjudicated
• Prints and reviews A/R reports for designated payers
• Processes insurance refunds
• Reviews refund requests from payer for accuracy and prepares refund request for management approval
• Files corrected claims and updates coding in NextGen per notification from clinical staff
• Creates corrected claim and files to payer with supporting documentation; creates insurance refund when applicable
PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATION
• High School Diploma
• Associates degree preferred
• Minimum 1 – 3 years experience in medical insurance claims follow-up
• Must be familiar with infertility terminology
• Knowledge of insurance billing and payment cycle/process
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Basic analytical and time management skills
• Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent attendance and punctuality commitment
