We are seeking a Practice Leader to join our Personal Lines/Small Business team. The Practice Leader is a senior leadership role responsible for defining the strategic direction, driving growth, and ensuring operational excellence within a specialized practice area. This role oversees the practice’s financial performance, guides the development of service offerings, and leads a high-performing team to deliver exceptional client outcomes. 

The Practice Leader collaborates across the organization to strengthen market presence, refine processes, and ensure the practice operates with efficiency, consistency, and a clear value proposition. Success in this role requires strong strategic thinking, business acumen, people leadership, and the ability to execute effectively across a dynamic, relationship-driven environment. 


What You’ll Do 

  • Strategic Planning & Market Leadership: Provide executive leadership and strategic direction to drive sustained, profitable growth across P&C, Employee Benefits, Surety, or related specialties by shaping the long-term vision, anticipating market trends, strengthening competitive positioning, and guiding differentiated regional and segment strategies aligned with evolving client needs. 
  • Financial Leadership & P&L Management: Provide financial and P&L leadership for practice by driving revenue growth, margin expansion, and disciplined cost management, while setting and overseeing annual budgets, forecasts, and performance targets and proactively reallocating resources to ensure alignment with enterprise objectives. 
  • Sales Leadership & Business Development: Provide enterprise sales leadership and business development oversight by setting and executing a disciplined sales strategy, building and mentoring high-performing advisory teams in partnership with recruiting, actively coaching and engaging in key client pursuits, and cultivating senior-level relationships with carriers, vendors, and strategic partners to strengthen market access and competitive advantage. 
  • Client Experience & Relationship Management: Champion an exceptional, enterprise-wide client experience by ensuring consistent service quality across all segments, overseeing the delivery of customized solutions for complex client needs, maintaining senior-level relationships with key accounts, driving strategic retention efforts, and serving as an executive point of escalation for high-impact client matters. 
  • Operational Excellence & Technology Enablement: Drive operational excellence and scalable growth by partnering with operations leadership to standardize and optimize workflows, leading technology, automation, and digital transformation initiatives, and advancing practice-specific innovations that enhance efficiency, performance, and long-term scalability. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead cross-functional alignment and enterprise collaboration by partnering with senior leaders across sales, operations, HR, finance, marketing, and analytics to advance shared objectives, providing visible leadership during key initiatives, ensuring clear and consistent communication, and aligning practice strategy with broader enterprise priorities. 
  • Talent Development & Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing leadership team by setting clear expectations and accountability, establishing robust talent development and succession pathways for critical roles, and fostering a culture of collaboration, engagement, continuous improvement, and unwavering integrity across the practice. 
  • Compliance, Governance & Risk Management: Provide executive oversight for compliance, governance, and risk management by ensuring all practice activities adhere to regulatory requirements, carrier guidelines, and company policies, while proactively identifying, mitigating, and managing risks related to client service delivery, operations, and market engagement. 
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Establish executive oversight of performance management and reporting by defining and monitoring key KPIs across growth, profitability, retention, operational effectiveness, and team performance, delivering data-driven insights and recommendations to senior leadership, and continuously refining strategies and execution based on performance outcomes. 

   

What You Bring

  • Education and Work Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related field; advanced industry education or certifications preferred. 8–12+ years of experience in a relevant specialty area (P&C, Employee Benefits, Surety, or related fields). 
    • License or Certification Requirements:
      • Possess and maintain a Colorado Property & Casualty Producer License 
      • Requires current Colorado driver’s license and acceptable MVR.
  • Leadership & Operations: Experience leading teams, managing operations, and driving growth. 
  • Financial Management: Proven ability to manage a P&L and deliver strong financial results. 
  • Relationships & Communication: Strong market presence with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively.

    • Salary Range - Starting pay for this exempt position is $120,000 - $140,000 annually. Pay may exceed this range for well-qualified candidates, commensurate with experience. In addition to regular pay, this position is eligible to participate in our annual performance incentive program.
