Description
JOB FUNCTION:
Assists in overseeing staff, floor presentation, service and operations. Responsible for providing exceptional customer service and promoting sales and services in the Softlines Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs UBS customer service expectations as required
- Works with the Marketing Department to help plan for promotional and sale campaigns.
- Proposes new ideas to help promote University Book Store merchandise.
- Communicates effectively with customers, management, supervisor, and staff.
- Assists with maintaining counter and sales floor presentation.
- Oversees all Sales Associate’s daily functions.
- Ensures teamwork enthusiasm and commitment at optimum levels of customer service, sales, organization and professionalism.
- Coordinates staffing in the department to maintain sales floor operations.
- Assists with training, coaching, and developing staff.
- Offers feedback to supervisor to assists with employee performance appraisals. While provides daily feedback to employees.
- Store opening/closing duties along with weekend floor supervisor duties.
- Maintains sales floor security
- Ensures merchandise is in stock, priced correctly and displayed according to guidelines.
- Ensures coordination of transfers between stores.
- Performs all additional duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with maintaining Floor Order Sheets.
- Works with buyers on pricing, scanning and product issues.
- Operates cash register to accurately record purchases, completing transactions according to company procedures.
- Assists in maintaining inventory records as directed by the Supervisor and Department Manager, including counting items, data entry, and verifying and recording information.
