1st shift Baler Operator
Description

The Baler Operator efficiently loads and unloads the baler while maintaining a safe and organized work area while achieving company goals, under the direction of the Area Supervisor. Additional responsibilities include equipment upkeep, non-mechanical maintenance, and safe operation.


Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Operate baler on a daily basis
  2. Record hourly/daily log of total weight materials
  3. Record down time of the baler flow
  4. Perform physical duties that are associated with the operation of equipment
  5. Follow direction of the Area Supervisor with regards to daily production and activities to complete the job
  6. Perform daily preventative maintenance on equipment as required
  7. Follow the dress code and compliance of proper PPE at all times
  8. Work independently in the absence of direct supervision
Requirements
  1. Knowledge of Non-Ferrous metals
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  3. Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work efficiently
  4. Pass a pre-employment drug screening
  5. Passa pre-employment background check
  6. Willing to work overtime and weekends when necessary

Education/Experience

  1. Basic math, reading, and writing skills
  2. Heavy equipment experience preferred (skid steer, front end loader, crane)
  3. Material handling experience

Physical Requirements

  1. Sit and stand for long periods of time
  2. Lift 50 lbs or more every hour
  3. Exposure to physical operations in scrap recycling facilities, including walking/climbing in active industrial yards with uneven surfaces in inclement weather
Salary Description
$17 per hour
