Safehome is a nonprofit organization and domestic violence shelter. Our core purpose is to provide a healing atmosphere where survivors of domestic violence can gain inner strength, explore options, and be empowered to live a life free of abuse. 


We are expanding our team and seeking an Impact and Growth Officer to join our development department.  You will help drive growth in our annual giving and sponsorship programs and work closely with the CEO and Senior Director of Development. This is a relationship-forward role requiring strong public presence, excellent communication, and comfort with public speaking and presentations. The ideal candidate is a proactive fundraiser who enjoys meeting new people, telling compelling stories, and turning relationships into meaningful support for Safehome’s mission.

  

Fundraising Strategy & Donor Development

  1. Establish with the CEO and Senior Director of Development a systematic strategy to actively identify, cultivate, solicit, and close commitments from new and existing donors. 
  2. Manage a portfolio of prospects, moving them through the donor pipeline.
  3. In collaboration with the Senior Director of Development and CEO, grow donor engagement efforts to retain and upgrade annual giving supporters and sponsorship partners’ activities.
  4. Work with the CEO and Senior Director of Development to establish annual revenue goals for the budget; provide accurate and timely progress reports.

Donor Solicitation & Relationship Management

  1. Work independently to conduct face-to-face visits, possible virtual meetings, and other relationship-building activities to secure sponsorships and annual gifts.
  2. Represent Safehome at community events, chamber meetings, and volunteer activities.
  3. Deliver presentations to diverse audiences, including corporate groups, media outlets, and public events; conduct on-site tours and participate in radio and television interviews.
  4. Assist in hosting and supporting events on- and off-site (including some nights and weekends).
  5. Build strong internal relationships with program staff to stay current on Safehome's work and bring impact stories to donors.

Requirements

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. 2+ years of successful fundraising experience, including a proven record of securing gifts/sponsorships or comparable revenue generation.
  3. Fundraising experience is required and previous financial experience (budgeting, reporting, analysis, or related work) is preferred.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to listen well and engage, inspire, and persuade.
  5. Comfort with public speaking and developing presentations.
  6. Strong relationship-building skills with a diverse range of constituents and a commitment to maintaining high-quality donor stewardship.
  7. Ability to manage multiple complex priorities and meet deadlines.
  8. High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.

Additional Requirements / Working Conditions

  1. Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
  2. Must be willing to work occasional nights and weekends.
  3. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
