We are seeking an experienced Closing Manager to lead and oversee the loan closing process from clear-to-close through funding. This role is responsible for managing a team of closers, ensuring compliance with investor and regulatory guidelines, and delivering a smooth, accurate, and timely closing experience for borrowers, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of Closers including hiring, training, and performance management
- Oversee pipeline to ensure all loans are closed accurately and on time
- Review closing disclosures (CDs) and settlement statements for accuracy and compliance
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, investor, and company guidelines (e.g., TRID, RESPA)
- Coordinate with underwriting, processing, funding, and third-party vendors to resolve issues and meet deadlines
- Monitor workflows and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors
- Serve as an escalation point for complex closing scenarios and borrower/broker concerns
- Maintain strong relationships with title companies, escrow officers, and external partners
- Track and report on closing metrics, turn times, and team performance
- Ensure proper post-closing handoff to funding and shipping teams
- 5+ years of mortgage industry experience, with at least 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of loan closing processes, documents, and compliance requirements
- Experience with agency and investor guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, Non-QM preferred)
- Familiarity with Loan Origination Systems (e.g., Encompass) and closing platforms
- Deep understanding of TRID, RESPA, and closing disclosure requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage high-volume pipelines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in wholesale or correspondent lending environments
- Knowledge of Non-QM and DSCR loan products
- Proven track record of improving processes and team performance
