Position Summary
The EHS & Compliance Manager is responsible for building and leading a scalable, enterprise-level Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program across a growing portfolio of complex, mission-critical construction projects.
Reporting to the General Manager, Data Center Construction, this role operates at the corporate level and is responsible for establishing governance, standards, and oversight to ensure consistent, compliant, and defensible EHS performance across all project sites.
This position is ideal for a senior EHS leader with deep experience in construction safety, regulatory compliance, and enterprise risk management, and who can scale programs in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities
EHS Program Strategy and Governance
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve the corporate EHS management system, policies, and standards
- Establish enterprise-wide safety frameworks and compliance practices across all construction sites
- Drive a proactive, risk-based approach to safety and regulatory compliance across the portfolio
Leadership and Functional Oversight
- Lead, mentor, and provide strategic direction to Regional Safety Managers and site-level EHS personnel
- Define expectations, operating rhythms, and accountability measures across the EHS function
- Foster a culture of safety, ownership, consistency, and continuous improvement
Reporting and Risk Management
- Own corporate-level EHS reporting, including the development and monitoring of key performance indicators
- Provide executive leadership with consolidated safety performance data, risk trends, and actionable insights
- Evaluate portfolio-wide trends and implement strategies to reduce incidents and strengthen compliance outcomes
Regulatory Compliance and External Partnership
- Serve as the primary corporate liaison with regulatory agencies, including OSHA, EPA, and other applicable authorities
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations
- Support regulatory audits, inspections, and inquiries with professionalism, responsiveness, and accuracy
Incident Response and Continuous Improvement
- Lead investigations into significant incidents and ensure effective root cause analysis
- Oversee the implementation of corrective and preventive actions across all sites
- Institutionalize lessons learned and incorporate them into standards, training, and ongoing program improvements
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
- 15+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience, preferably in construction, infrastructure, or industrial environments
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent advanced certification
- Demonstrated experience leading EHS programs across multiple sites or large-scale projects
Preferred
- Experience building or scaling an enterprise EHS program in a high-growth environment
- Deep expertise in corporate EHS governance, enterprise risk management, and executive-level reporting
- Familiarity with international standards such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
- Experience supporting large, complex construction or infrastructure programs
Work Environment
This role is remote and ideally based in or near the Dallas–Fort Worth area to support periodic in-person meetings, travel, and business needs as required. Travel may be required based on project and operational demands.
The position involves regular coordination with executive leadership, field teams, project stakeholders, and regulatory agencies across a growing portfolio of major construction projects. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment and leading through complexity, scale, and ambiguity.
