This role may be performed remotely from an in-home office located within the U.S., provided the candidate is willing to work during standard business hours matching our headquarters in the Pacific Standard Time zone.

About the Role
The Staff Accountant role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the month-end close process, and ensuring our financial data remains reliable and audit-ready. The Staff Accountant will take ownership of core accounting functions and help ensure the integrity of our financial reporting.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be actively involved in the day-to-day work—not just reviewing it—requiring a willingness to dive in, solve problems, and do what’s needed to keep things moving. This position works closely with finance leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure financial data is reliable, timely, and actionable.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation
- Maintain clean, well-documented balance sheet reconciliations
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
- Maintain schedules for accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets
- Take ownership of core transactional processes, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll, with a willingness to step in and execute when needed
- Investigate and resolve account discrepancies
- Support financial statement preparation, reporting, and audit readiness
- Mentor junior accounting staff.

This is a fully remote, in-home position. Reliable, high-speed internet and a private, HIPAA-compliant remote workspace is required. Finity provides all necessary equipment and assists with in-home remote technology setup.

Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of core accounting principles
- Experience working with ERP systems
- Experience supporting multi-state payroll processing and payroll tax compliance
- Strong Excel skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- CPA or progress toward certification
- Experience working in a growing or fast-moving company
- Exposure to financial systems implementations or automation
- Experience with Odoo.
