SUMMARY:
MCAD is seeking an Administrative Assistant. This position is responsible for providing detailed administrative support for the President’s Office staff. The Administrative Assistant must be sensitive to college needs, employee and student goodwill, and overall brand equity of MCAD as an employer and educational institution.
DETAILS: This is a part time, non-exempt position expected to work 20 hours a week. This position reports to the Chief of Staff and is paid $21-24 hourly.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate the complex and dynamic calendars of the President’s Office.
- Assist with travel arrangements.
- Manage general office operations for the President’s Office.
- Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth communication and operational efficiency.
- Track and manage incoming correspondence, ensuring timely response and follow-up.
- Coordinate, attend, and take notes for meetings, and assist in preparing agendas and related materials.
- Maintain and update required documents, contact databases, distribution lists, and communication logs.
- Partner with the Chief of Staff to support the operations of the Board of Trustees.
- Support the planning and logistics of campus-wide events and special initiatives led by the President’s Office.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information and materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent, required. Post-secondary education/experience, preferred.
- Office/administrative support or customer service experience, required. Experience with C-suite executives, preferred.
- Professional experience requiring and adhering to high levels of confidentiality, diplomacy, discretion, and composure, required.
- Track record for effective time management for self and others, required.
- Experience managing multiple complex and competing priorities with positive outcomes, required..
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, required.
- Demonstrated high level of accuracy and attention to detail, required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and technical aptitude, required.
- Experience with diverse populations, strongly preferred.
ENVIRONMENT: This position operates in a professional office environment. This position requires the ability and willingness to closely partner with team members and colleagues in other departments. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets. BACKGROUND: Founded in 1886, Minneapolis College of Art and Design is located in the rich creative community of the Twin Cities.
