Full-time
Description

Muir Wood Teen Treatment | Riverside, CA | Full-Time $70,000-80,000 annually based on experience |Sunday–Thursday 10am-6pm

About the Role

As an Associate Therapist in a residential program for teens (12–17), you’ll build real depth quickly: individual therapy, family sessions, and daily groups, all within a structured milieu and alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team.

This is one of the most immersive clinical training environments available—high-acuity clients, crisis work, and consistent supervision that accelerates your path to licensure.

We’re looking for clinicians who already have a foundation in individual and group therapy and are ready to build real clinical depth. You should be engaged, coachable, and comfortable stepping into meaningful responsibility within a fast-paced, team-based setting.

What You'll Do

  • Facilitate multiple therapy groups per week using DBT, CBT, ACT, and trauma-focused modalities—group therapy is a central function of this role
  • Provide individual and family therapy sessions
  • Spend time in the milieu building rapport, modeling interventions, and shaping treatment in real time
  • Conduct biopsychosocial and risk assessments to inform individualized treatment plans
  • Collaborate in daily and weekly multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings
  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation
  • Participate in rotating on-call schedule and provide crisis support as needed

Note: This is a full-time, in-person role. Schedule includes one weekend day (Sunday).

Requirements

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Master's or Doctorate in psychology, counseling, social work, or MFT
  • Active California associate license: AMFT, ASW, or APCC
  • Experience facilitating therapeutic groups (practicum, internship, or post-grad settings accepted)
  • Comfort with adolescents in mental health, substance use, or high-acuity settings
  • Grounding in trauma-informed care and at least one evidence-based modality (DBT, CBT, ACT, etc.)

Preferred (not required):

  • Experience in residential, inpatient, or intensive outpatient (IOP/PHP) settings
  • Training in EMDR, motivational interviewing, or relapse prevention
  • Exposure to co-occurring disorders or family systems work

Why Associate Clinicians Choose Muir Wood

  • Weekly individual supervision toward LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC—built into your schedule, not an afterthought
  • Diverse caseload including individual, family, and group therapy = well-rounded hours accrual across modalities
  • Multidisciplinary team: you're learning daily alongside psychiatrists, nurses, and senior clinicians
  • Pay increase upon full licensure
  • Mission-driven culture focused on teen and family healing

Benefits:

  • Medical, Dental & Vision insurance
  • 401(k) + employer match
  • PTO & Sick Pay
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Company-provided mobile phone & laptop
  • Employee Discount Marketplace
