Vacation Rental Specialist

Location: Remote-within Colorado Only

Position Type: Full Time Non-Exempt

Compensation: $23.80 - $27.40 + Commission

Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8am-6pm


This is a remote position, but due to legal and payroll requirements, it is open to Colorado residents only. Applicants must currently reside in Colorado and no other state.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist guests and owners via phone and email with vacation rental inquiries, bookings, and modifications.
  • Provide accurate information on availability, rates, and policies.
  • Resolve concerns promptly, ensuring high satisfaction.
  • Maintain and update property availability across all booking channels (OTAs, extranets, etc.).
  • Audit reservations from OTAs and internal systems for accuracy.
  • Process rental contracts, income distributions, and owner payouts.
  • Manage holds, blocks, and promotional inventory for upcoming seasons.
  • Support yield management strategies to maximize occupancy and revenue.
  • Generate weekly/monthly reports on rental performance, income distribution, and channel analytics.
  • Assist with month-end closing and forecasting.
  • Promote ancillary services (travel insurance, transportation) to enhance guest experiences.
  • Generate leads and schedule tours by offering promotional packages.
  • Collaborate with Marketing/Sales on cancellations, reschedules, and special offers.
  • Ensure all OTAs adhere to company policies and rate structures.
  • Document guest interactions and reservation details in property management software.
  • Identify and onboard new distribution channels to expand reach.
  • Support Owner Relations and Accounting teams with inventory or payment discrepancies.
  • Assist in training new hires as needed.
  • Participate in staff meetings and company initiatives (e.g., sustainability programs).
  • Perform duties of an Owner Support Specialist when required.
  • Complete assigned projects with measurable results.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, or vacation rentals.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math skills (calculating rates, discounts, percentages).
  • Professional phone etiquette and problem-solving ability.
  • Willingness to learn property management systems.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in timeshare, resort operations, or vacation rental management.
  • Familiarity with OTA platforms or PMS software.
  • Knowledge of revenue management or inventory optimization.
  • Sales experience (upselling packages, travel insurance, tours).
  • Experience with reporting tools (Excel pivot tables, BI software).
  • Bilingual skills
