What You Will Do
Reporting to our Sr Accounting Manager, your main responsibilities will include:
- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP or SAP, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Reconciling general ledger accounts, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring all financial activity is properly recorded and supported.
- Supporting and executing month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and detailed supporting schedules.
- Analyzing and applying accounting guidance to complex transactions, including areas such as accruals, deferrals, amortizations, and reinsurance-related activity.
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining robust internal controls over financial reporting to ensure compliance and operational integrity.
- Supporting external and internal audits by preparing schedules, gathering documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
What You Bring
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with insurance industry experience strongly preferred.
- CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred; public accounting or audit experience is highly valued.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and the demonstrated ability to interpret and apply accounting principles to real-world transactions beyond standard journal entry processing.
- Experience working with complex accounting scenarios, including accruals, deferrals, amortizations, and other technical accounting areas.
- Proficiency with accounting systems (such as SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills, with the ability to leverage tools for analysis and insight.
