JOB TITLE: SVP, Account Management
Reports to: Chief Commercial Officer
POSITION SUMMARY:
The SVP, Account Management, will play a pivotal role in the Account Management department. Specifically, the SVP, Account Management will lead a team of Account Managers and Account Support Managers who are responsible for the growth and retention of one or more of our most complex, highly matrixed manufacturer client relationships. The SVP will be accountable for orchestrating, motivating, and liaising between clients and cross-functional internal teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to client needs. This hands-on, “roll-up-your-sleeves” position requires a high-energy, well-rounded operational and tech savvy leader who can make a significant impact on the client relationship, by managing strategy, growth, scope, and expectations, by modeling and driving Account Management best practices. The SVP role will also lead cross-functional and operational projects independently.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead team of Account Managers and Account Support Managers, coaching team members to operate as the primary point of contact for clients and holding leaders accountable across both program performance and people management.
- Set the standard for client management, including timely triage of requests, communication, escalations, quality, and documentation.
- Ensures that client teams regularly prepare and document client status dashboards, reports, and notes to support visibility of status, risks, and next actions to stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Act as a trusted advisor/primary escalation point with key client stakeholders and executive sponsors; establishes and promotes goodwill with clients.
- Oversees management of client program health, including presenting to executive. leadership and ensuring follow through on health management.
- Lead and facilitate strategic client planning across their book of business.
- Build, forecast, and manage P&L for client portfolio.
- Oversee hiring and training for Account Management teams.
- Collaborate with Operations Leadership on client strategy, execution, and escalation to drive client success.
- Support Sales throughout the opportunity lifecycle, including input and approval on key opportunity milestones (e.g., MSAs, contracts, proposals, orals).
- Support and provide Product with competitive intelligence and market insights.
- Serve as industry and client SME to client program teams throughout the client lifecycle.
- Support and facilitate, where relevant, internal process improvements.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance, including being present, on time, and prepared for work as scheduled.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- BS/BA in business, healthcare, computer science or equivalent.
- College degree required; Master’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years of healthcare enterprise software, technology, or operations experience.
- 15+ years’ experience in a Specialty Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical, HUB or Payor Services.
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge and experience in sales of healthcare enterprise software, patient services, brand agency or other related areas.
- Documented track record of managing large, enterprise-wide, complex technology and service programs.
- Documented record of meeting and exceeding multi-million-dollar execution/success targets.
- Must have ability to communicate effectively through verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Must have strong executive presence, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Must have strong and proven track record of client management skills.
- Must have strong strategic planning skills for both clients and internal process improvement.
- Must have strong ability to drive strategic partnerships by relating to client needs and producing creative and innovative solutions.
- Must be able to work as an effective leader and collaborative team member.
- Must have strong people management and team building skills.
- Must have knowledge of current best practices in all aspects of strategic corporate and integrated operations.
- Must have financial planning and budget skills.
