Summary
As part of a dynamic Communications team, the purpose of this position is to strategically and consistently communicate Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Minnesota’s mission, services and accomplishments to the public, staff and Board, thereby reinforcing the organization’s position as a highly professional leader in the field and creating a positive image that increases community use and support of JFCS.
This entry-level role provides hands-on experience across all major communications functions. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will collaborate with senior marketing professionals to support strategic initiatives including newsletters, website content, social media, print and electronic collateral, events, fundraising campaigns, and analytics reporting. The position is designed to provide meaningful professional development and exposure to nonprofit marketing strategy, brand management, and integrated communications execution.

Salary and Benefits:
- Salary range $55,000.00-60,000.00

Education and Licensing
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, graphic design, nonprofit management or related field preferred.
Experience
- Previous internship, volunteer, campus leadership or related experience in communications, marketing, design, writing, or social media preferred but not required.
Skills and Qualities
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, social media platforms, and basic design tools required[IL1.1].
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, email marketing platforms, photography, or video editing software a plus.

Job Duties
Social Media and Digital Communications (25%):
- Maintain and regularly update agency Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn pages with guidance from staff.
- Contribute to the development and scheduling of content aligned with agency campaigns and initiatives.
- Track engagement metrics and assist in preparing summary reports.
Print and Electronic Communications Support (20%):
- Draft, edit, and format newsletters, blog posts, email campaigns, internal communications, and marketing collateral.
- Coordinate aspects of production, including layout, proofreading, and vendor communication as needed.
Website & Email Marketing Support (15%):
- Assist with website content updates, blog posts and calendar entries.
- Support formatting and distribution of e-newsletters and other electronic communications.
- Monitor basic analytics and support reporting efforts.
Design, Photography, & Media Support (15%):
- Create flyers, invitations, graphics, and PowerPoint presentations.
- Support light photography and organization of digital media assets.
- Edit basic video content and assist with multimedia projects as assigned.
Campaign & Event Support (15%):
- Provides communications support for agency programs, events and fundraising campaigns.
- Prepare signage, nametags, and other on-site materials to support event logistics
Team Support (5%):
- Act as a communications support resource to JFCS staff, under supervision.
- Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
Sitting for long periods of time, with considerable periods of concentration and work using a computer. Constant work with and around others in an office setting. Frequent use of computer, printer, copier, telephone and other office equipment. Constant need for time awareness and responding to deadlines. Occasional attendance at agency events, which may include evening or weekend hours.
