Solutions Engineer
Fully Remote
Description

Sifted is a team of intelligent, creative, and collaborative people leveraging Logistics Intelligence to solve complex problems for shippers.

Our software gives shippers the clarity and control they need to make decisions, optimize their operations and save money. We're changing the way parcel supply chain management is done. And this is just the beginning.

We’re driving a transformative shift in the logistics industry, redefining what’s possible for our clients — and AI is at the core of that evolution.

At Sifted, we don’t just use AI — we depend on it. Our proprietary SiftedAI platform delivers predictive intelligence and automation that enable businesses to make smarter, faster, and more confident decisions. Internally, every employee is expected to leverage AI to optimize how they think, create, and deliver. We believe mastering AI is fundamental to our speed, excellence, and competitive edge.

Be part of a company that created a category and is continuously building. If you get excited about defining market verticals and making an impact, Sifted is the place for you. Join us and be part of something extraordinary.

We’re looking for a Solutions Engineer who lives and breathes parcel. You know the difference between DIM weight and actual weight before your coffee kicks in. You can walk into a room of logistics leaders, speak their language, and earn trust fast.

But domain expertise is only part of the equation. You also need to be the person who can crack open a dataset, build a dashboard that tells a story, and present findings that make executives lean forward in their chairs. And you need the interpersonal chops to sit on sales calls, navigate complex client conversations, and translate pain points into solutions that close deals.

This role is the bridge between Sales, Engineering, and Customer Success. You’ll own the technical narrative throughout the sales process and drive rapid adoption of Sifted’s platform with new and existing clients.

Requirements

 Parcel & Domain Expertise

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on parcel shipping, carrier networks, rate structures, accessorial charges, and supply chain optimization.
  • Translate complex logistics concepts into clear business value for prospects ranging from operations managers to C-suite executives.
  • Stay current on carrier program changes, industry trends, and competitive dynamics to keep Sifted’s positioning sharp

Data Analysis & Dashboards

  • Build compelling, executive-ready dashboards and visualizations using BI tools (Sigma, Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar) that turn raw shipping data into actionable insights.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries across modern data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) to support prospect evaluations, custom analyses, and proof-of-value engagements.
  • Translate customer data into KPIs, trend analyses, and savings models that quantify Sifted’s impact — not charts for the sake of charts.
  • Leverage advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, Power Query, financial modeling) because someone will always ask for the spreadsheet.

Client-Facing & Sales Partnership

  • Partner with the sales team to lead pre-sales initiatives, product demos, and technical deep-dives with prospective clients.
  • Sit on sales calls and client meetings as the technical authority — building credibility, handling objections, and aligning Sifted’s platform to customer pain points.
  • Establish yourself as a trusted advisor to clients at every level, from shipping dock to boardroom.
  • Capture valuable customer feedback and funnel it to Product and Engineering to drive platform improvements.
  • Curate and deliver polished presentations that communicate Sifted’s value proposition with clarity and conviction.

Must-Haves

  • Deep experience in the parcel/shipping industry — you can speak carrier, speak shipper, and navigate the nuances that only come from years in the space.*
  • Hands-on proficiency with enterprise BI platforms (Sigma, Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Qlik, or equivalent) with the ability to build visualizations and speak credibly to both technical and non-technical audiences.*
  • SQL proficiency across modern data warehouses — comfortable writing queries from scratch, optimizing slow ones, and explaining results to someone who’s never seen a JOIN.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with a proven ability to hold a room on sales calls, client meetings, and executive briefings.*
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, Power Query, and financial modeling.
  • Demonstrated ability to embrace AI as a core tool for problem-solving and innovation.
  • Experience in SaaS, preferably in a pre-sales or solutions engineering capacity.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and self-driven — you don’t wait for someone to tell you what the next step is.

Nice-to-Haves

  • 3+ years in a pre-sales engineering or solutions consulting role.
  • Experience quantifying shipping spend optimization and building savings models for enterprise shippers.
  • Track record of partnering with sales teams to close complex, multi-stakeholder deals.
  • A keen sense for business development — you see pipeline opportunities others miss.
  • Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills with a track record of enabling data-driven teams.
