Job Overview:
SurePoint Technologies is seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to drive the successful completion of complex, cross-team initiatives through agile program leadership, transparent reporting, risk and dependency management, and hands-on coaching to improve how teams plan, collaborate, and deliver. This role blends technical fluency, business acumen, stakeholder leadership, and pragmatic agile project management to accelerate value creation, product/service quality, and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Program & Delivery Leadership: Own program-level planning and coordinate cross-team execution without undermining team autonomy. Remove impediments and address organizational dysfunctions that hinder delivery.
- Stakeholder & Communication Management: Serve as primary point of contact for assigned efforts. Provide clear, consistent status reporting, lead stakeholder conversations on tradeoffs, and ensure decisions are recorded and communicated.
- Risk & Dependency Management: Proactively manage/mitigate/eliminate risks and cross-team dependencies. Support compliance and governance needs by advising teams and enabling lightweight, effective practices.
- Agile Coaching & Capability Building: Coach Product Owners, Engineering Managers/Leaders, and teams on effective agile planning, refinement, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Process Optimization & Enablement: Define, implement, and fine-tune processes, runbooks, and templates to enable self-service capabilities and drive repeatable, efficient execution.
- Portfolio Flow & Capacity: Assist leaders in managing the inflow of work. Improve flow metrics and predictability across the program.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of program/project management experience in software/technology environments, including cross-team delivery
- Strong understanding of software delivery fundamentals (SDLC, CI/CD concepts, environments, release coordination, incident/risk basics)
- Proven ability to produce executive-ready status reporting, convey business context, and facilitate decision making across stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience applying agile project management practices in real-world situations
- Experience coaching or mentoring teams to improve planning, execution, and continuous improvement
- Excellent facilitation skills for workshops and working sessions
- Strong written communication and documentation habits
Additional Qualifications that are nice to have:
- Ability to work on-site 2-3 days out of the week
- Experience with Atlassian (Jira, Confluence) administration
- Experience building training programs, onboarding materials, or internal coaching communities
- Experience with multi-team scaling patterns
- One or more relevant certifications from Project Management Institute (e.g., PMP, PMI-ACP), Scrum Alliance (e.g., A-CSM, CSPO, CSP-SM), or similar
Success Metrics (For Internal Purpose):
- Delivery outcomes: Program goals met with clear definition of done and measurable value delivered, within expected constraints.
- Predictability & transparency: Stakeholders consistently understand status, risks, and likely outcomes; fewer surprises.
- Risk management effectiveness: Risks identified early, tracked visibly, and mitigated before becoming incidents.
- Flow & focus: Reduced work-in-progress and better alignment to capacity; fewer stalled initiatives due to unmanaged dependencies.
- Team enablement: Teams report fewer impediments, clearer decision pathways, and improved ability to self-organize.
- Continuous improvement: Observable improvement in collaboration, refinement readiness, quality practices, and "team ownership" behaviors over time.
- Stakeholder satisfaction: Strong partnership ratings from Product, Engineering, Security/Compliance, and leadership.
